Deadline to submit nominations for Geomorphometry 2013

Nominations for hosting Geomorphometry 2013 are now open. Before submitting your application, please contact the current the Chair and Vice chair who will provide you with more information about the procedure and the format of application.

Please, closely follow the instructions and include the following headings into your application:

  1. Official name of the University / Institute that will act as the main host of the event (has to be a legal entity).
  2. Name of the director and vice director of the Local Organizating Committee (insert full affiliation, regular mail address, visiting address, e-mail, skype account, telephone numbers including a mobile phone number).
  3. Proposed date for the conference and a list of overlapping events in the same month (+/- 15 days).
  4. A formal Letter of support by the chief representative of the legal entity from #1 specifying the dates, contact people, facilities provided by the University, eventual costs of using these facilities and optional conference support staff (secretary etc).
  5. Name and location of the main conference hall where the conference will be held (attach photographs, maps and plans). Please also consider listing any additional (workshop, meeting) rooms that will be used during the conference.
  6. A rough daily programme (morning and afternoon blocks, workshops, conference dinner, optional excursion) that can include original ideas and set-ups.
  7. Name of the conference secretary (providing daily feedback to logistical issues and updates to the information on the website) and will you be able to provide 1-2 persons that can act as the main contact for your conference?
  8. Description of the travel possibilities, map of the closest airports, train/bus connections, map of the state/county and surroundings. How long does it take to get from an international airport to the conference accommodation?
  9. Which conference accommodation do you recommend? Will you be able to reserve at least 50 rooms at the closest proximity to the event? Will there be an organized transport from the hotel to the conference venue?
  10. Will you be able to provide funding or any type of sponsorship to the participants from the ODA recepient countries? Do you already have some sponsor or do you plan to approach some potential sponsors in the coming year?
  11. Any special reason why we should come to your country?

The Scientific Committee will carefully study the submitted applications and then decide based on your initial programme, facilities and support for a high quality conference. Summary of your applications will be published on-line to allow registered members of the society express their opinion (however, the selection will be decided by the Scientific Committee vote).
